Can we afford to learn from Obama & put our family above our job?

New York Times reporter Sheryl Gay Solberg comments in the Sunday Styles section that President Obama breaks from important meetings to attend his daughters' recitals and spend time with family and his staff knows to schedule important meetins around his family's schedule. The Times mentions that while President Obama puts his family first, he expects his staff and others in Congress to put their job first. The article quotes Rahm Emanuel stelling President Obama that indeed his administration is "family-friendly to your family." Is his "family first" governing style commendable? Good for the country? Hypocritical? Does it send a positive message? Should other fathers learn from the President? Can other fathers afford to do what the President does?
