The Sunday, Feburary 24th' New York Times' Sunday Review section includes an article titled "The Price of Public Violence" (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/24/opinion/sunday/the-price-of-public-violence.html?ref=opinion&_r=0) which comments about recent events and their consequences.  After reading the article, summarizing it in the blog and stating the author's and your opinion, be ready to discuss your views and the author's in class for extra credit.

The Sunday, February 17th New York Times' Sunday Review section includes an opinion piece titled "Why Gender Equality Stalled" (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/17/opinion/sunday/why-gender-equality-stalled.html?_r=0).  After reading it, summarize the article in the blog and state your opinion regarding the author's views.  Be ready to discuss the article and your views in class for extra credit.

The Sunday, February 10th New York Times' Sunday Busines section includes an article titled "Battling College Costs, a Paycheck at a Time" see link(http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/10/business/college-costs-battled-a-paycheck-at-a-time.html?ref=business&_r=0).  After reading the piece and summarizing in in the blog, state your opinions regarding the topic and some of the options described in the article.  Consider the proposal by Gov. Scott regarding Florida's bachelor's programs.  Be ready to discuss the article and your views on the topic before your classmates for extra credit points.

The Sunday, February 3rd New York Times' Sunday Review section includes are article titled "Can We Be Healthy and Rich" (http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/02/we-can-be-healthy-and-rich/?ref=opinion).  After reading the piece, summarize it and state your own views n the blog.  Be ready to speak to your classmates about the author's views and yours in class for extra credit.
