The article serves as a great example of how difficult it is in todays economy to be an innovative person.I have to agree that like Jobs there might be possible candidates all around the world with fascinating ideas, but do not have the means to materialize them. Entrepreneurs serve as the basis of any countries economic success and should be given the help to realize their ideas, Nonetheless, each country has a distinctive way of governing that branches towards why they rank so low in the study mentioned in the article. Countries like Venezuela for example are under an "almost" completely communist control and entrepreneurs probably lack the funding necessary to produce. The world needs more people like Steve Jobs therefore an initiative should be taken to help innovators all around the world.

Steve Jobs, may have grown up in a good or wealthy neighborhood, but there have been many entrepreneurs who have grown up in rural areas or poor areas; and have made it. granted not as big as Jobs. In my opinion I don't think where you grew up has something to do with your success, it may have some part but not all of it. For example the Colombian scientist Manuel E. Patarroyo invented the first vaccine for malaria. He may not be as big or famous as Jobs. But it goes to show that no matter, where you are from South America, Europe, anywhere in the world, you can invent Something, you just have too work hard and dedicate yourself and you will succeed.

  3. I believe this article talks about what it takes to go down the same path as a man like Steve jobs. Unfortunately it is a little harder than it was back then. Steve was able to create something influential in his garage. He was able to change the way the world lived. But in modern times it is harder to complete a task such as that. With times getting rougher, people find themselves stuck and unable to live their idea off the ground. Even more so in other countries where certain status is kept. It is very difficult to rise in that society. It goes to show that hard work isn't the only element to make success

  5. Steve Jobs was a great inventor and entrepreneur, no questions asked. I believe as the article mentioned that everything else worked in his favor. First being in the U.S.A is an advantage to being in other countries with less resource, but also Steve Jobs is from Silicon Valley where all the other inventors came from. I personally do not see him as great as the Wright Brothers or Thomas Edison and the article mentions Capitalist who put money into his companies that I believe has a lot to do with his success. Its important lets take for example the pile of junk that the Wright Brothers put together and catapulted into the air was not even a model that flew on its own because they had no capital to built something better versus the 14 bis created by Alberto Santos Dumonte which is the first official recording of a real flight, from a self propelled airplane "not catapulted glider" that France financed and won first prize the first to fly contest. This article talks about economies and capitalist ventures as does chapter five of Text book The Social Environment by German Munoz. Finally thank you so much Steve Jobs I love my i phone.

The article "Steve Jobs may have failed abroad" illustrated the author's opinion on Jobs chances of success to be rare if he were to express his aspirations within another country due to its drawn-out process. He felt that after a certain point in Jobs career, it would have plummeted because other countries other than America would make it tougher to receive patents and to start a business. In the other article "Where Have You Gone, Joe DiMaggio", the author expressed that America is not giving young entrepreneurs enough tools to become extremely successful. In addition he expressed how America's government never faces a problem head on and takes unnecessary actions and that Steve Jobs had the characteristics that it took to raise a nation. These articles are on the topics of chapter 5 and 6 in our Social Environment book, The Economy and The American Political Economy. In reference to the first article mentioned, I believe due to the author's support and research, that Job wouldn't have in fact been as successful or successful at all as a citizen of another country or perhaps after leaving Apple as a citizen of another country. As of the last article, I too believe that Job had the characteristics of a born leader and that he had true talents and gifts but I believe that's where it stops. I believe knowing what the people desire and want for pleasure and entertainment differs from more serious matters as in knowing what the people need pertaining to leading a nation out of its weak areas.

  7. Steve Jobs was a genius and a great inventor. he invented many good products that are used in everyday life. his products are the best of the best such as the Mac computer, IPOD, and I phone. Thanks to him he created many jobs for people helping the economy by giving jobs to people who work for apple. Yes, i do agree with the second article because I am sure that if he lived in another foreign country such as Spain or Mexico he would not have had the opportunity or funds to become the entrepreneur he became. Here in the US he had more possibilities. If other countries could give their citizens the same opportunities this country gives us I am positive that we would have more people like Steve Jobs. These articles could be linked with chapter five of the Social Environment book where it talks about different types of economies, including a market economy which is what Steve Jobs had because he would offer products in return for money, and it describes entrepreneurs as himself. Steve Jobs was a great man who provided great inventions and jobs for people.

Whether Steve Jobs would have reached success abroad is something we may never know. What we do know for a fact is that he was an amazing innovator who saw technology in a sophisticated way. In my opinion it's not where we come from that influences on how we function as a member of society but our surrounding. All through out history we have been more negative that positive as discussed in Chapter 3. But that didn't stop Martin Luther King from preaching in what he believed in. It didn't stop Rosa Parks from fitting for her right to have a seat on the bus. Many people from around the world have contributed and sacrificed to shape today's world. It just proves where you come from doesn't determine who you are. What surrounds you has an affect on who you are but a stronger weapon is the mind and how you put it to use.

  9. Steve Jobs shock the world and done something that no body image. His art work given us the further with the cell phone that do a lot of things. The I phone one of his great create have different company trying to beat this product. He was a great inventor and entrepreneur and I believe as the article mentioned that everything else worked in his favor. First being in the U.S.A is an advantage to being in other countries with less resource. Also I do agree with the second article because I am sure that if he lived in another foreign country such as Spain or Mexico he would not have had the opportunity or funds to become the entrepreneur he became. He made a history in the state that he loves United State of America. In chapter 2 just like Sophists, Plato and Aristotle if they didn’t say what was on their mind. If they didn’t believe how the world work and the space too, it would not be science, math and entrepreneur would be here. Technology would not be as great how it is now, if Plato, Aristotle and Sophists didn’t stand up and say something. I feel like if you really want to chase your dream, you have to change the world.
