The article was basically explaining how the president Barack Obama uses many different style of speaking to reach people. The first technique he uses is signifying, which is to utilize humor as critique. Another technique he use was to speak differently with different group of people, and I feel that this linguistic technique that the president uses as a result of making different ethnic groups of people feel comfortable with him is crucial because the more connected the people feel to the president, the more they’re likely to vote for him.

  2. This article is about how they try to compare the President Barack Obama speech with Mitt Romney, where they exactly mention how President Obama always uses different style of speech to convince the audience. On the other part, Mitt Romney always sound the same in the most of his speech where he doesn't have the same ability as Mister Barack did.......

  3. In this article the linguistic talents of Mr. Obama and Mr. Romney, two political main figures in this year’s elections, are compared. It mainly explains the differences of dialects and how it is used to attract, and relate, to the different cultural and racial audiences of both candidates. It further explains that Mr. Obama can switch his public speaking styles depending on the environment he’s set in while Mr. Romney is described as monotone and fake. My opinion is that in order to attract the public in a speech it takes mostly charisma and confidence from the speaker. Romney may, or may not, be a good candidate for presidency, but if only judged by his public speaking talents, then he wouldn’t have my vote. I agree that he lacks the charisma to attract the public’s empathy. He also lacks confidence and credibility on his non-verbal communication. In the other hand, Mr. Obama’s talents run high on the scales due to the smoothness he can speak to any group. As well as the smoothness he can switch from formal to informal speaking, and non-verbal communication, depending on the setting he’s set in.
