Che the Environmentalist? Faux Pas or Freedom of Speech?

The Sunday, September 30th Miami Herald's Issues & Ideas section includes a piece by contributor Humberto Fontova (http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/09/30/3027082/us-government-celebrates-che-guevara.html)  regarding the EPA's choice of "poster boy" to commemorate Hispanic Heritage month: Che Guevara.  After reading the article and familiarizing yourself with the persons and/or incidents mentioned, write your opinion in the blog.  Be ready to discuss the article's author's views and yours in front of the class for extra credit points.

    For me the person that published the e-mail is very ignorant on the subject and should have put a person like Felix Rodriguez instead of Che Guevara. That worries me how many people don't know who Che Guevara really was.

    The article U.S government celebrate Che Guevara, who craved to nuke the U.S is about EAP getting rid of Hispanic Heritage Month due to stupidity of a Cuban man Guevara who's malignant, evil plot for the USA. This man would kill his cuban people because he thought they they were against him. He had no good motive, I'm mean he actually took away life for no apparent reason. He talked ill of the U.S. I believe it's pure disrespect towards Hispanics because what does this man have to do with Hispanic Heritage Month even if he's an a Hispanic who chose to talk ill or threaten to harm America, my point is Hispanic Heritage Month shouldn't be effected, or changed.

    Although this does disappoint me it really doesn't surprise me, not many people are knowledgeable about Cuba's history.Che's malicious comments towards the USA are the least of his evils. In Cuba, he's known as a patriot but that's because the people are ignorant to the fact that he motives were the same of that as Fidel Castro. I would rather prefer that we idolize a man like Felix Rodriguez for Hispanic Heritage Month.

    Rebecca bellier che guevara was a man hated america and curse them physically mentally and emotionally. Among many things and testaments of his boycot were also solgans he used to portray his hate some where
