  1. I think the magnet programs is a great concept. I think it is great to help a child in his/her early age to focus on a career in which he/she is interested in. The advantages of the magnet programs are the fact that they give a child the opportunity to get training in something they are interested in. This way, they will be more focused in class since they are studying something they like. Many students do poor in class because they are studying subjects that they don't identify themselves with. Most of them always say, "I don't know why I am studying this". This program will get students ready to hit the professional world as soon as they get out of high school. The magnet program can help a child to be more accurate in choosing their career, because, early they get expose to the field and can determine if that is what they really want to do. But in great concept there are always some flaws. My biggest issue with the magnet program is the fact that I am not comfortable with anything that gives some people better opportunities than others. I don't think it is fair to put some in front of the game. Every student should have equal opportunity. Another issue is the fact that, I think the child might be cornered into a career. I think the child should get expose to different fields before focusing in one.

  2. The article introduces the concept of Magnet Schools and shares how students are getting career-specific training and graduating from high school ready to work in fields such as Aviation, Agriculture, and even Landscaping.

Magnet Schools are a great way to better prepare youth into the workforce. I believe it's a great opportunity to develop specialized skills and even "test out" a potential career without spending thousands of dollars on a bachelors degree and then realizing it's the wrong path. And better yet have the Government pay for it!

I know of people who graduted from School with their technical degree as Automotive Technitians, and also those who paid $20,000 to get the same degree, from their own pocket.

Overall I believe it's a great program to prepare youth and counteract the massive drop-out rates that are overwhelming the country.
