  1. To me the ideal age would be 93, but on the condition that I am still self-sufficient, basically having control over my bodily organs and not having to depend on a nurse for a shower have little to no debt at all, and I am not a burden on my family financially and emotionally. I say 93 because I was born in the year 1993 and I would love to see my great grandkids and would love to earn an income in some entrepreneurial-type fashion and still be able to explore what the world has to offer through traveling and other experiences. Though, I am wishfully thinking, I think being alive thanks to the side effects of some pill sucks because, there may be other side effects besides extending life like mood swings or it may make me drowsy. Plus, I may have to take a cocktail of pills throughout the day, daily just feel the effects of the pills. I rather live long because I think positive, exercise, eat right, and have some luck in my corner, God willing; instead of being dependent on a machine or pill to help sustain me, making me some cash cow to an insurance agency, or pharmaceutical company, and be a burden on my family financially and emotionally.

  2. This article is thought-provoking because at some point in our life we asked or got asked; How long do you want to live? More than half of the population will say more than 80 years old, some will shoot for a 100. My answer is 60, I think than in 60 years I would have accomplish every single goal. The fact is it does not matter how long is the period of time you want to live for, is what you did until you got there. Although; I do hope I can keep my mind and my thought-processing by the time am 60. Who knows with the advances of technology maybe we will all live to see flying cars.

  4. I think that we don't get to decide how long do we want to live. Unexpected things happen every day, and no one certainly knows when his or her time to go will be. All I can say is that as long as I live I will try to make the most of it, I will try to be always positive about things and accomplish all my goals. I also believe that there is not such thing as fate, I think that everyone's future is a reflection of their past, the actions you do today will have an impact tomorrow. If I get to live to a 100 or 60 years old for me that does not matter, what matters is the things I will do during those years.

  5. I think this article really makes you think while reading it, I wondered how long I would like to live given all the opportunities that were stated. I think that the ideal age i would like to live up to is 90. I think people are pushing it too far when they say they would like to live to be 150 because till now that is nearly impossible and if science advances do come up with ways and pills to slow down the process of aging then you will basically be living depending on a computer or on a nurse. I would like to live to an age that I can still enjoy myself and carry myself I wouldn't want to depend on anyone. Even though I do think it is a great idea for those who would like to live to the age of 150. I think that you don't need that many years to accomplish all your goals but by 90 you have already seen your grandkids grow up and done everything in life. This article really opened my mind and made me think of all the advancements that can possibly come in the future.

    1. That's a really hard question since I've never really thought about it before. But if I had to choose an age it would 100 and a couple months (so I can have fun telling people I'm 100). One because I'm hitting the triple digits and two because like others have commented I think I will have accomplished everything I want to by then. I honestly don't want to live to be a really old old age or use technology or anything to extend my life. Because then, eventually, everyone I care about and that I have grown up with will die and I'll be one of the few left living and I couldn't do that. I also don't want to be so old that I can't take care of myself or think the same way I used to, I still want to be healthy and able to function. It was a good article and it made me think but I definitely can relate to the rest who don't want to outlive those around us.
