  1. As sad as it may seem us Americans are still racists. I say us because it is us who act this way and it’s up us to change it if we want to see the change happen. We are racist with ourselves. They talk about being united and being as one but it is all nonsense. I have had to experience it myself and see with my own eyes. The colleges and universities should not look at the student’s race or income zip code. They should look at what type of student is trying to apply to their school academically. Are they dedicated to their studies? What do they have to offer academically to the school and themselves and in the long run to society? Did they apply themselves in high school or did they apply themselves in their local community college? What are their SAT, ACT scores like? If we sit here and worry about if we have too many blacks in the school or too many whites or too many of whatever race at a school, we are taking away from the many point and its education. We need to be worrying about what kind of education we are giving our kids and our feature and not worry what color or where the person next to them is from? I just hope and pray that when it comes time for my daughter, who is a very biracial child, to go to college or university she doesn’t have to go through this nonsense. I hope she gets accepted to the college or university of her choice because of her smartness, her urge to excel and become a better person, woman in life and in society. To become one willing to help and give back to society and show people that the color of your skin or where you come from has nothing to do with what you hold as knowledge.
